The principals of Maven Films, LLC, represent a diversification of talent and experience that yields a unique creative synergy.
D. Scott Lumpkin – Producer
Scott Lumpkin has worked on over 125 projects since starting his career in film thirteen years ago. His experience runs the gamut of the Motion Picture Industry from Budget Consultant to Producer.
Scott received his B.A. from Troy State University and graduated number one in his class. He later attended film school at the University of Southern California, where he worked on several student film projects and documentaries.
After numerous independent projects and commercials in Los Angeles, Scott began to develop a dream of seeing movies made back home in The Deep South. Scott felt that the South had a lot to offer and became convinced that a local line producer who knew how to ¡°speak the language¡± could be instrumental in bringing the film industry to the South.
Scott formed Lumpkin Productions in 1994. As a Producer, Scott has an impeccable reputation with bond companies and producers alike, bringing every project in on budget and on schedule. His ability to negotiate crew, equipment and location deals has saved producers hundreds of thousands of dollars. Further, he has enticed several producers to film in the South, providing them with great production value and locations at costs far less than any other regions in the United States, including Los Angeles.
Scott’s recent feature film projects include: The Six Wives of Henry Lefay, a new comedy starring Tim Allen, Elisha Cuthbert, Andie McDowell, and Jenna Elfman. The Year of Getting to Know Us (accepted to Sundance 2008) starring Jimmy Fallon, Sharon Stone, and Lucy Liu. Tyler Perry¡¯s Daddy¡¯s Little Girls. Triggerstreet¡¯s Fanboys. Doubting Thomas, a kids imaginary adventure and quest to save the President’s daughter; Randy & The Mob with Academy Award winning director Ray Mckinnon, starring and at the helm. Come Early Morning starring Ashley Judd, Jeffrey Donovan, & Tim Blake Nelson; London starring Jessica Biel, Chris Evans, and Jason Statham; The Novice Starring Alan Arkin, Jacob Pitts & Amy Acker; The SCI-FI Channel project Frankenfish starring Tory Kittles, K.D. Aubert, and China Chow; Dead Birds starring Isaiah Washington, Henry Thomas, and Patrick Fugit; Tough Luck, Hometown Legend, Love Liza, starring Kathy Bates and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and The Badge, starring Billy Bob Thornton and Patricia Arquette.
